Haast raises $12M to assist legal teams make haste with compliant AI-generated content

Compliance workflow automation startup Haast Pty Ltd. said today it has raised $12 million in an early-stage round of funding to assist organizations speed up the rollout of artificial intelligence-generated content.

The Series A round was led by Peak XV and saw participation from DST, Airtree, Aura Ventures and Black Sheep Capital, bringing its total amount raised to greater than $17 million thus far.

Haast says it’s constructing the missing infrastructure for the generative AI era with an agentic AI platform that embeds organizational risk frameworks directly into enterprise workflows. Its primarily focused on digital content, which has been transformed by generative AI. Today, organizations can generate massive volumes of promoting copy, product descriptions, blog posts, go-to-market and sales materials with AI at almost zero cost, causing the amount of such content to surge by 10 times.

The issue is that organizations still aren’t publishing content any faster, since the legal and compliance processes they should undergo are still manual and very time-consuming. Based on Haast’s own research, the common legal team still spends as much as 70% of its time on manual review tasks, creating a large bottleneck. To place it simply, legal teams cannot review the content at anything just like the speed it’s generated.

The startup says the difference between its agentic platform and various AI assistants is that it operates on the infrastructure level. So moderately than using a general-purpose chatbot like Claude, which may only give suggestions and advice, it relies on AI agents that may bake each company’s specific policies and approval logic directly into the tools used to generate corporate content.

These agents can interpret a few of the most complex global, federal and state regulations after which ensure each bit of content meets those standards before it’s reviewed by a human editor. The platform is transparent too, so it should explain why a certain piece of content or statement has been rejected.

With Haast’s platform, legal teams can create automated review pipelines for specific sorts of content, including marketing materials, personalized ads and product documentation that meets all of the principles and regulations they’re required to abide by. It allows the identical content to be repurposed so it’s compliant across multiple jurisdictions, the corporate said.

Co-founder and Chief Executive Kunal Vankadara said organizations shouldn’t be forced to make a choice from moving quickly or staying compliant. “We built Haast to rework compliance from a generic assistive checkpoint into an intelligent, automated engine,” he explained.

It’s a technique that’s paying off, if Haast’s latest numbers are to be believed. It said its revenue has increased by 4.5 times over the past yr, off an undisclosed base, and it says it has not yet lost a single customer. Its plan now’s to scale its business globally, and check out to grow to be the de facto compliance layer for each enterprise that intends to utilize AI-generated content at scale.

Lead investors Rohit Agarwal of Peak XV said AI tools are churning out a lot content that manual review processes are not any longer just slow, but unimaginable. “Haast is solving a multibillion-dollar bottleneck by turning compliance into an automatic enabler,” he explained. “It’s helping the world’s leading brands unlock the total potential of generative AI without the looming threat of regulatory friction or brand damage.”
