Khamzat Chimaev recently went toe-to-toe with Demetrious Johnson ahead of UFC 328.

Sean Strickland will probably be working with high-level wrestlers to organize himself for his upcoming shot on the undefeated middleweight champion.

Consequently of his training at Santo Studio, where Chimaev joined Aaron Pico’s camp, the defending titleholder’s preparations have been well documented.

The newest footage saw ‘Borz’ speak very highly of ‘Mighty Mouse’ after he got here to coach with them.

Khamzat Chimaev says he tried to repeat Demetrious Johnson with mixed results following their training

While Demetrious Johnson will enter the UFC Hall of Fame in July after he retired in 2024, he still trains when filming content for his YouTube channel.

His latest video saw him share the mat with middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev at Santo Studio.

Chimaev quickly tapped Johnson after they began grappling together but they continued to check one another in alternative ways, as seen within the charming footage.

After their session, ‘Borz’ was asked what it was wish to mix it up with the previous flyweight champion, which led him to disclose that ‘Mighty Mouse’ influenced his profession.

“Feels amazing. Legend. One and only,” he said. “No person beating this guy, crazy techniques. If anyone has a pc [referring to his fight IQ] on this game, he has it. Actually growing up on [his] fights, I attempted to do with my body some stuff like him. Sometimes worked, sometimes not. It’s cool to have him here. At all times.”

Johnson was impressed by what he saw from Chimaev, specifically highlighting the best way he incorporates his footwork when hitting pads which not every fighter does.

He’s, nevertheless, having some second thoughts about which fighters he chooses to coach with in these videos.

“I don’t understand how big he’s but he’s super, super strong,” Johnson said. “I got to stop attempting to grapple him and f—— Arman [Tsarukyan]. I’m gonna get in trouble at some point, these guys are only too big and robust.”
