Tottenham have been dealt a fresh injury setback with Mohammed Kudus potentially missing the remaining of the season.

The 25-year-old has been sidelined since January 4 after being forced off with a thigh injury within the 1-1 draw with Sunderland.

Thomas Frank, who was sacked by Spurs in February, described Kudus’ injury as ‘a much bigger one to the tendon and quad’ and ruled the winger out until the beginning of April.

Spurs had remained hopeful that the Ghana international would return to motion after last week’s international break.

Nonetheless, The Sun reports that Kudus may now require surgery and there are concerns that he could even miss Ghana’s World Cup campaign this summer.

Ghana kick off their World Cup group stage against Panama on June 18 before playing England and Croatia.

Kudus, who joined Spurs in a £55 million deal from West Ham last summer, has scored three goals and registered five assists this season.

The injury will come as a blow for Roberto De Zerbi, who will take charge of his first game as Spurs manager this weekend as his side travel to Sunderland on Sunday.

Spurs currently sit seventeenth within the Premier League and only one point above West Ham, who’re within the relegation zone.
