Liverpool aren’t planning to sack Arne Slot and need him in place for the beginning of next season, based on reports.
Slot guided Liverpool to the Premier League title in his first season at Anfield having replaced Jurgen Klopp in 2024.
Nevertheless, Liverpool have put up a woeful defence of their Premier League title and currently sit fifth within the table, only one point ahead of sixth-placed Chelsea.
Liverpool even have a mountain to climb to be able to reach the Champions League semi-final following their 2-0 defeat away to Paris Saint-Germain in the primary leg of their quarter-final on Wednesday night.
Slot’s side didn’t have a shot on track and registered just 26 per cent possession on the Parc des Princes as they struggle to address the speed and precision of PSG’s attack.

‘We were in survival mode for giant parts of the sport,’ Slot admitted after the defeat to Luis Enrique’s side, who won the Champions League last season.
‘But perhaps also within the period of the season where we were in survival mode.’
Liverpool are facing increasing pressure from supporters to sack Slot, particularly with Xabi Alonso now available after he was dismissed by Real Madrid in January.

Nevertheless, The Telegraph reports that Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group imagine that Slot ‘deserves’ to stay in charge for the beginning of next season.
The report adds that Liverpool’s hierarchy feel that Slot needs 4 transfer windows before making a call over his future.
Liverpool are also said to have remained mindful of Alonso’s decision to reject a move to Anfield in 2024 when he was regarded as a substitute for Klopp.
Alonso spent yet another season at Bayer Leverkusen having guided the German club to the domestic double before he moved to Real Madrid in May last yr.
Liverpool are next in motion on Saturday after they host Fulham at Anfield within the Premier League.
