CBFC Issues, Release Delay
Jana Nayagan was initially scheduled to release on January 9 but was postponed after the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) withheld its certificate, citing scenes that would hurt public sentiment. Following a month-long legal standstill, the filmmakers agreed to send the film to the revising committee, and the brand new release date has yet to be announced.
Vijay’s final film, Jana Nayagan, is his last project before fully transitioning into politics. Directed by H. Vinoth, this political motion thriller features music by Anirudh Ravichander and cinematography by Sathyan Sooryan. Since facing CBFC issues earlier this 12 months, the film’s release has been uncertain. Meanwhile, Vijay was last seen within the motion film GOAT, which received mixed reviews.
