Influencer Abby Howard opened up about her anatomy scan while expecting her rainbow baby with husband Matt Howard.
Abby, 27, took to TikTok on Thursday, April 9, to take her followers along to an anatomy scan appointment. “To be honest, these appointments bring much more fear than they did before loss,” Abby said, referring to her pregnancy loss, which she first opened up about in September 2025.
“I’m 18 and a half weeks,” Abby said while doing her makeup, “which is definitely sooner than the opposite thrice I’ve done this scan. We’ve just overall been treating this pregnancy in a different way, given the circumstances.”
Abby noted that other mothers who went through an analogous loss “know there’s a transparent distinction between your pregnancies pre-loss and your pregnancies post-loss.” After getting dressed, Abby clarified that she’s still “so excited” to expect again, but has “lots more fear.”
Following her scan, Abby and Matt, also 27, said that they got “excellent news” and “barely not excellent news.”
“The excellent news is great enough that we don’t care! The infant looks great,” Abby said.
Matt continued, “The one slight downside is that for the subsequent month until our next appointment, there’s no mommy-daddy time or figuring out for Abby.”
@matt_and_abby_howard kinda just wanted to listen to a “every part looks perfect!” today, but we are able to work with this!!
Abby explained that her doctors beneficial “a type of pelvic rest” while they keep “an in depth eye on the placenta.”
Abby concluded her post by saying, “Overall, today was a terrific day.”
Matt and Abby, who already share sons Griffin, 3, and August, 2, got candid about suffering a pregnancy loss in September 2025 via Instagram. On the time, they shared a pic of them holding hands while Abby lay in a hospital bed.
“It’s with very heavy hearts that we share concerning the lack of our baby girl born far too soon,” Abby wrote on the time. “At a routine pregnancy appointment, our doctor couldn’t discover a heartbeat. Shortly after they sent us in for an ultrasound where the technician said words we are going to always remember, ‘I’m so sorry I wouldn’t have excellent news.’”
She added, “For now we are going to grieve and proceed to think about ways to honor her life offline. Thoughts and prayers are greater than welcome. Thanks everyone for celebrating this precious life with us for the past 17 weeks.❤️.”
Last month, the couple announced that Abby is pregnant via Instagram. “Baby #4 🌈,” they captioned a post of Abby’s sonogram. “Grateful beyond measure.”
