Sarfaraz Khan took a tremendous catch that helped Gurjapneet Singh get a wicket on the very first ball of his IPL profession. This moment slowed down Delhi Capitals’ chase and shifted the match in favour of Chennai Super Kings. Sarfaraz’s good effort lit up the MA Chidambaram Stadium in the course of the match on April 11.
Chasing a giant goal of 213, Delhi began well within the powerplay and looked on top of things at first. But things modified quickly when Pathum Nissanka and KL Rahul got out on back-to-back balls, stopping their momentum and putting them under pressure.
The pressure increased when debutant Gurjapneet Singh struck immediately. Axar Patel made a mistake and was caught by Sarfaraz on the backward point. Sarfaraz reacted in a short time to a tough shot, moved to his right, and dived full length to take a clean catch within the air.
It was a really difficult catch since the ball was hit so fast. After this, Delhi lost three quick wickets and struggled despite their strong start. The chase, which looked easy earlier, suddenly became tough as Chennai took control with tight bowling and great fielding.
