Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Attend Ted Sarandos’ Beef Event Amid Netflix Drama

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are once more shutting down reports of a falling out with Netflix, but this time with an in-person appearance.

The famous couple attended an event in Montecito, California, on Friday, hosted by Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos and ambassador Nicole Avant, celebrating Beef season two, which premieres on the streamer April 16.

Season two solid members Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Charles Melton and Cailee Spaeny, in addition to Emmy-winning creator Lee Sung Jin, were also in attendance.

Prince Harry and Markle’s appearance got here nearly a month after Variety reported that Netflix had been distancing itself from the pair. The publication also claimed that Sarandos, who’s the couple’s neighbor in Montecito, had grown uninterested in the pair.

Nonetheless, each the couple and Netflix’s leadership have shut down those claims, with a spokesperson for the streamer previously calling them “absolutely inaccurate.”

Netflix chief content officer, Bela Bajaria, also said on the Next on Netflix presentation, “I might say don’t consider whatever you read. Possibly we should always all do somewhat fact-checking. But here’s the thing: We still have a relationship with them, now we have movies in development with them, now we have a tremendous doc with them, they’ve things in development on the TV and film side.”

She added, “Deals come and go on a regular basis and… we don’t renew so many deals and people don’t get as much press for obvious reasons, I assume. So there’s no juicy story there.”

But during the last yr, Netflix has taken a step back from some business deals with the couple, including exiting Markle’s lifestyle brand As Ever as a business partner in March. The streamer also downgraded the couple’s overall deal to a first-look deal in August 2025.

Though it was announced last month that Netflix is teaming up with the couple’s Archewell Productions again to develop a scripted drama about polo after working with them on the 2024 docuseries Polo.
