There have been loads of announcements at today’s stacked Nintendo Direct, but one in all the most important surprises was for Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, which finally confirmed the long-rumoured DLC.

As if the last week in gaming news hasn’t been busy enough, because of PlayStation’s packed triple-A-led showcase, Summer Game Fest’s surprisingly excellent slew of announcements, and Xbox’s strong, Spyro-reviving event, Nintendo decided that none of us deserved a break and announced a Direct out of nowhere. And with a Treehouse to follow, it gave the impression of a giant one.

Going into the Direct, we did not have an excessive amount of of an idea about what was going to be announced, save from some obvious picks like The Duskbloods and a few heavily rumoured titles just like the Zelda remake that leaked just a few months ago. That made it quite a surprise when Dragon’s Dogma 2 appeared and confirmed each a port and DLC.
