Arsenal are sweating on one other potential injury blow after Gabriel Magalhaes was forced off of their FA Cup defeat against Southampton.<\/p>\n

After Manchester City ended their quadruple bid, the Gunners crashed out of a second competition on Saturday night after a shock defeat at St Mary\u2019s. <\/p>\n

Mikel Arteta\u2019s side trailed at half-time after an error from Ben White led to Ross Stewart scoring the opener for the hosts before Viktor Gyokeres levelled the quarter-final tie after 68 minutes with.<\/p>\n

Shea Charles scored a winner for Saints five minutes from the ultimate whistle, sparking jubilant celebrations among the many home crowd. <\/p>\n

It was a woeful night for Arsenal and there might be concern for Gabriel who was forced off with 20 minutes of the sport remaining.<\/p>\n

The Brazil international was among the many clutch of players not involved for his or her respective nations in the course of the international break but was named in Mikel Arteta\u2019s starting XI at St Mary\u2019s on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

His evening got here to an end after 73 minutes with the centre-half replaced by Gabriel Saliba. Gabriel was seen sat among the many Arsenal subs together with his right knee elevated with an ice pack applied.<\/p>\n

Speaking after the sport, Arteta revealed Gabriel asked to get replaced, describing the situation as \u2018not ideal.\u2019<\/p>\n

Arteta said in his post-match press conference when asked concerning the Brazilian: \u2018I don\u2019t know. He felt something, we don\u2019t know exactly what it’s.<\/p>\n

\u2018But when a player asks to be substituted, it isn’t ideal.\u2019<\/p>\n

Saliba, who replaced his teammate after the knock, was one other who missed the international break as he recovered from an ankle issue.<\/p>\n

Gabriel missed 10 games earlier within the season with a thigh injury he suffered while on international duty with Brazil last November.<\/p>\n

Arsenal might be hoping the problem isn’t a serious one with a busy fiixture schedule ahead, back in motion away to Sporting CP in the primary leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Bournemouth visit the Emirates next weekend before Sporting come to town for the return leg.<\/p>\n
