Despite reports on the contrary, Triple H stays firmly in command of WWE\u2019s week-to-week creative direction and the majority of the show\u2019s presentation.<\/p>\n<p>The move was said to be driven by a desire to spice up interest within the product, in addition to create <em><strong>\u201ccorporate synergy\u201d<\/strong><\/em> between WWE and ESPN. Nevertheless, Fightful Select is reporting that not everyone internally supported the direction \u2014 particularly the <strong><em>\u201cthis place sucks\u201d<\/em><\/strong> promo angle, which some feel rarely lands effectively in wrestling.<\/p>\n<p>A later promo from Cody Rhodes was reportedly delivered more loosely. The promo was intended to be <strong><em>\u201cfrom the hip.\u201d<\/em><\/strong> While it\u2019s unclear if it was fully unscripted, the segment was not listed on the corporate\u2019s internal run sheet.<\/p>\n<p>Internally, the response was described as mixed.
