{"id":314706,"date":"2026-04-07T09:40:18","date_gmt":"2026-04-07T04:10:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ebiztoday.news\/?p=314706"},"modified":"2026-04-07T09:40:18","modified_gmt":"2026-04-07T04:10:18","slug":"child-told-teacher-mom-allegedly-kicked-punched-choked-them","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ebiztoday.news\/index.php\/2026\/04\/07\/child-told-teacher-mom-allegedly-kicked-punched-choked-them\/","title":{"rendered":"Child Told Teacher Mom Allegedly Kicked, Punched, Choked Them"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>A Georgia woman found guilty of kid abuse was sentenced to 40 years in prison after her child told an elementary school teacher that their mother allegedly kicked and punched their legs, in addition to \u201cchoked\u201d them, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p>At the top of <strong>Candice Nicole McClure\u2019s<\/strong> jury trial that unfolded over 4 days, she was convicted of 1 count of aggravated assault and two counts of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/100068880803516\/posts\/1242800418025973\/?fs=e&#038;mibextid=wwXIfr&#038;rdid=ZNnhEYlRdYQFVapd&#038;share_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fshare%2F18LZKcCVQ1%2F%3Fmibextid%3DwwXIfr#\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cruelty to children<\/a>, the Cherokee County District Attorney\u2019s Office in Georgia announced in a news release.<\/p>\n<p>McClure, 35, of Lenox, was sentenced to prison that very same day, in accordance with the office.<\/p>\n<p>It was not immediately clear who represented her at trial.<\/p>\n<p>The case against McClure dates back to when a Cherokee County teacher reported possible physical abuse against McClure\u2019s child in April 2023, after the kid spoke up in regards to the abuse, prosecutors said.<\/p>\n<div class=\"link-related article link-related__with-thumb\">\n<figure class=\"article__figure\">\n<div style=\"padding-bottom:56.25%;\" class=\"ratio-based-placeholder\"><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<div class=\"article__content\">\n<h3 class=\"article__title\">\n<p>    <span class=\"related-badge\">Related: <\/span><span class=\"related-title\">1st Grade Teacher in Tennessee Charged With Abuse of Her Own 2 Kids<\/span><br \/>\n\t\t<\/h3>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\n\t\t\tA primary-grade teacher in Tennessee was recently arrested on two counts of kid abuse after an alleged incident that involved two of her own children. Heather Pecht\u2019s estranged husband reported the alleged abuse to Chattanooga Police on Friday, December 12, after he picked up two of his children from her home, in accordance with The Chattanoogan.
