A low-pressure area (LPA) was spotted outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and is \u201chighly likely\u201d to grow to be a tropical depression, based on the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration on Wednesday.<\/span><\/p>\n The LPA was positioned 3,100 kilometers east of Northeastern Mindanao, PAGASA said in its 10:00 am advisory.<\/span><\/p>\n PAGASA has yet to supply the potential track of the LPA in the course of the forecast period.<\/span><\/p>\n Meanwhile, weather conditions across the country on Wednesday are expected to be hot and humid, with isolated rain showers in parts of the Visayas, PAGASA said.<\/span><\/p>\n The warmth index is predicted to exceed 30 degrees Celsius nationwide, except within the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR). The warmth index refers back to the temperature as experienced by the human body, considering air temperature and humidity.<\/span><\/p>\n PAGASA said in its heat index forecast that the best possible reading is 42\u00b0C, which could also be experienced in Cotabato City and Butuan City.<\/span><\/p>\n In key cities, a heat index of 37\u00b0C is projected in Metro Manila, 40\u00b0C in Iloilo City, 37\u00b0C at Mactan-Cebu International Airport, and 40\u00b0C in Davao City.<\/span><\/p>\n A heat index above 30\u00b0C continues to be expected across many of the country on Thursday, except in CAR.<\/span><\/p>\n The Department of Health earlier reminded the general public to remain hydrated and avoid excessive sun exposure amid the dry season, when high heat index temperatures are expected. \u2014 Edg Adrian A.
