Aubrey Plaza<\/strong> and Chris Abbott<\/strong> knew one another for years before their relationship turned romantic.<\/p>\n

Plaza\u2019s rep confirmed to People in April 2026 that the actress is pregnant and expecting her first baby with Abbott. A source told the publication that it was a \u201cbeautiful surprise\u201d following the Parks and Recreation<\/em> alum\u2019s difficult 12 months.<\/p>\n

Plaza was previously married to Jeff Baena<\/strong> for nearly five years before news broke in January 2025 that he died by suicide at age 47.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is an unimaginable tragedy,\u201d a rep for Plaza told Us<\/em> in a press release on the time. \u201cWe’re deeply grateful to everyone who has offered support. Please respect our privacy during this time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBased on the reported information, the decedent Jeffrey Baena is a 47-year-old Caucasian male,\u201d the Los Angeles medical expert wrote in a report obtained by Us<\/em> in March 2025. \u201cHe was experiencing recent marital difficulties and was separated from his wife since September 2024.\u201d<\/p>\n

Plaza largely stayed out of the general public eye as she mourned, briefly speaking about her grief during an August 2025 appearance on Amy Poehler<\/strong>\u2019s \u201cGood Hang\u201d podcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cOverall, I\u2019m here, and I\u2019m functioning, and I feel grateful to be moving through the world,\u201d Plaza said on the time. \u201cI believe, like, I\u2019m OK, but it surely\u2019s a every day struggle, obviously.\u201d<\/p>\n

Months later Plaza stepped out during Paris Fashion Week in March 2026, seemingly hiding her baby bump with an oversized shirt and leather jacket.<\/p>\n
