Israeli strikes rained down on residential areas and estates in central Beirut today abruptly, hours after a ceasefire was announced between the US and Israel.<\/p>\n

Israel has said the agreement doesn’t extend to its conflict with the Iranian-backed group Hezbollah in\u00a0Lebanon<\/strong>, nonetheless.<\/p>\n

Today, the IDF launched greater than 100 strikes on Hezbollah targets inside 10 minutes in Beirut, southern\u00a0Lebanon\u00a0and the eastern Bekaa valley.<\/p>\n

At the least 254 people have been killed by Israeli strikes across Lebanon today, based on civil defence authorities.<\/p>\n

The very best death toll was \u2060within the capital Beirut, where Israeli strikes killed 91 people.\u00a0These tolls are expected to rise.<\/p>\n

Black smoke towered over several parts of the seaside capital, and booms interrupted the honking of traffic on what had been a blue-sky afternoon, as ambulances raced toward open flames.<\/p>\n

At the least one apartment constructing was struck as emergency responders searched charred vehicles. There was no sign of Hezbollah launching strikes against Israel in the primary couple of hours after the attacks.<\/p>\n

Lebanon\u2019s National News Agency reported that the airstrikes hit at the least five different neighbourhoods in Beirut\u2019s central and coastal areas.<\/p>\n

Lebanon\u2019s minister of social affairs, Haneed Sayed, said the strikes were within the \u2018heart of Beirut\u2019 where half of the internally displaced people had been.<\/p>\n

She said\u00a0Lebanon\u2019s government is able to enter into negotiations with Israel for an end to hostilities, a suggestion that the president previously made.<\/p>\n

Israel has not responded.<\/p>\n

Hezbollah had fired missiles across the border days after the US and Israel attacked Iran, resparking a lengthy regional conflict.<\/p>\n

Israel responded with widespread bombardment of\u00a0Lebanon\u00a0and a ground invasion, and claims to have killed a whole lot of Hezbollah fighters.<\/p>\n

Israel has killed greater than 1,530 people in\u00a0Lebanon, including greater than 100 women and 130 children, within the attacks. A couple of million people have been displaced in\u00a0Lebanon.<\/p>\n

Early on Wednesday, after the ceasefire in Iran was announced, many displaced people sleeping in tents on the streets of Beirut and the coastal city of Sidon began packing their belongings in preparation to return to their homes.<\/p>\n

That was before Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed the military would press on in\u00a0Lebanon.<\/p>\n

At a sprawling displacement camp on Beirut\u2019s waterfront, families whiplashed by the conflicting statements expressed confusion and despair.<\/p>\n

\u2018We are able to\u2019t take this anymore, sleeping in a tent, not showering, the uncertainty,\u2019 said Fadi Zaydan, 35.<\/p>\n

He and his parents had prepared to go back to the southern city of Nabatieh before Mr Netanyahu\u2019s comments stopped them of their tracks.<\/p>\n

\u2018But we\u2019ll be targeted if we go home,\u2019 Mr Zaydan said. <\/p>\n
