Khamzat Chimaev recently went toe-to-toe with Demetrious Johnson ahead of UFC 328.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Khamzat Chimaev says he tried to repeat Demetrious Johnson with mixed results following their training<\/h2>\n

While Demetrious Johnson will enter the UFC Hall of Fame in July after he retired in 2024, he still trains when filming content for his YouTube channel.<\/p>\n

His latest video<\/a> saw him share the mat with middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev at Santo Studio.<\/p>\n

Chimaev quickly tapped Johnson after they began grappling together but they continued to check one another in alternative ways, as seen within the charming footage.<\/p>\n

After their session, \u2018Borz\u2019 was asked what it was wish to mix it up with the previous flyweight champion, which led him to disclose that \u2018Mighty Mouse\u2019 influenced his profession.<\/p>\n

\u201cFeels amazing. Legend. One and only,\u201d he said. \u201cNo person beating this guy, crazy techniques. If anyone has a pc [referring to his fight IQ] on this game, he has it. Actually growing up on [his] fights, I attempted to do with my body some stuff like him. Sometimes worked, sometimes not. It\u2019s cool to have him here. At all times.\u201d<\/p>\n

Johnson was impressed by what he saw from Chimaev, specifically highlighting the best way he incorporates his footwork when hitting pads which not every fighter does.<\/p>\n

He’s, nevertheless, having some second thoughts about which fighters he chooses to coach with in these videos.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t understand how big he’s but he\u2019s super, super strong,\u201d Johnson said. \u201cI got to stop attempting to grapple him and f\u2014\u2014 Arman [Tsarukyan]. I\u2019m gonna get in trouble at some point, these guys are only too big and robust.\u201d<\/p>\n
