Revival series are all the fashion in terms of beloved older sitcoms. Now, the newest show to return to the airwaves is none apart from \u201cMalcolm within the Middle,\u201d which aired on Fox for seven seasons. The brand new show, \u201cMalcolm within the Middle: Life is Still Unfair,\u201d is ready to premiere in April and can feature Frankie Muniz<\/strong>, Bryan Cranston<\/strong>, Jane Kaczmarek<\/strong>, Justin Berfield<\/strong>, and Christopher Masterson<\/strong> returning. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Erik Per Sullivan<\/strong> is the one original forged member to not return. Now, ahead of the premiere, reviews for the brand new show are mostly positive. <\/p>\n

Early Reviews Heap Praise On The \u2018Malcolm within the Middle\u2019 Revival<\/h2>\n

The review embargo for \u201cMalcolm within the Middle: Life Is Still Unfair\u201d was lifted on April 9. Currently, the show sits at an 81% rating on Rotten Tomatoes<\/a>. Although lower than many expected, this easily makes the show \u201ccertified fresh\u201d on the platform. This is predicated on 27 reviews. <\/p>\n

One reviewer, Akos Peterbencze from Looper.com, wrote, \u201cI can\u2019t speak for each fan, but \u2018Malcolm within the Middle: Life\u2019s Still Unfair\u2019 is sort of every bit as delightful, bonkers, and mad fun as the unique was.\u201d<\/p>\n

Robert Lloyd from the LA Times stated, \u201cIt\u2019s true to itself. It gets just a little sentimental and just a little serious within the clutch; there might be closure, self-realization, and ego death. And, as if embarrassed by the entire business, the show will do something crazy to blast the tear out of your eye.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lastly, Alan Sepinwall from What\u2019s Alan Watching said, \u201cIf Boomer and the others desired to keep periodically returning to those misfits, I might grow wary. Regarding the reception to \u201cMalcolm within the Middle: Life is Still Unfair,\u201d there are also several negative reviews, with some stating that the show overall just doesn\u2019t work the way in which the creators intended. In a negative review, Dave Nemetz from TV Guide wrote, \u201cFamily reunions are nice and all\u2026 but this one might only prove you actually can\u2019t go home again.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nathan Chizen from Exclaim! said, \u201cThe unique Malcolm within the Middle looks like a product of its time, and, unfortunately, so does its revival.\u201d Moreover, Aramide Tinubu said for Variety, \u201cThis finale actually has a heartfelt moment or two, however the show overall is wholly unnecessary.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lastly, Daniel Fienberg from The Hollywood Reporter reviewed the show, saying, \u201cLife\u2019s Still Unfair is way from comfort food. It\u2019s bizarrely discomfiting. It\u2019s almost audaciously unpleasant.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMalcolm within the Middle: Life Is Still Unfair\u201d has been within the works for quite a while now. Filming for the show reportedly began in April 2025 and concluded the next month. From there, Hulu and Disney+ announced in December that the show would premiere on April 10. <\/p>\n
