UFC CEO Dana White is funding the continued treatment of 12-year-old mass shooting victim Maya Gebala as she heads to Los Angeles.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The UFC boss, who is understood to spare no expense on charitable causes, has never commented publicly on his offer to pay for the treatment for Gebala, who was considered one of 27 injured within the February 10 Tumbler Ridge shooting that took six lives. It was the deadliest mass shooting since 2020 in Canada.<\/p>\n

Today, Global News reported<\/a> that Gebala\u2019s mother Cia Edmonds had accepted a suggestion from White to fund treatment, in addition to travel and accommodation for care in Los Angeles. There, the 12-year-old will receive help at an intensive brain trauma clinic in an unnamed hospital.<\/p>\n

Dana White\u2019s offer to fund Maya Gebala\u2019s healthcare is accepted<\/h2>\n

Global News\u2019 report noted that UFC CEO Dana White can be covering the prices \u2013 as yet uncalculated \u2013 of Maya Gebala\u2019s life-saving treatment. He was said to have made the offer back on March 26 after learning of the February 10 shooting.<\/p>\n

Gebala has recently left the intensive care unit, and her family have raised a complete of just below $516,000 CAD, or around $373,000 USD on a GoFundMe. But White is now assisting them in getting her to Los Angeles for personal treatment.<\/p>\n

In a press release on the GoFundMe page, Cia Edmonds wrote: \u201cMaya is out of ICU\u2026 She\u2019s aware.
She is seemingly stable. Are we out of the woods? Possibly\u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cMaya is making strong strides that far beyond exceed all and any expectations. With the hard hitting emotional turmoil that exists in uncertainty, removed, we are able to breath a bit. Right? With the looming fear of darkness subsiding, we are able to finally consider life and what it might appear to be.\u201d<\/p>\n

At a later point, she wrote: \u201cAfter many nights of research, questioning, and fear of the unknown, we decided to say yes to a chance for an aggressive approach to her rehabilitation through privatized health care.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe’re excited. Aswell as nervous, away from family and resources, a chance we couldn\u2019t refuse. We wait for all of the moving parts to line up and create a path to pursue. Until then, we live somewhere in the center.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also added that: \u201cMy hope is after we land in LA we’ll give you the option to construct routine and relationships, that can hopefully feel normal(ish).\u201d<\/p>\n

White has not publicly commented on the story.<\/p>\n
