\n\tDuring an appearance on \u201cThe Claudia Winkleman Show\u201d on Friday night, Fiennes was questioned about HBO\u2019s upcoming \u201cHarry Potter\u201d series and the rumors surrounding who will tackle the role of the Dark Lord.<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cI remember being asked the query once we\u2019d shot the overall film series, would I reprise the part, and this was some years ago. I said, \u2018Yes, I\u2019d like to,’\u201d Fiennes revealed. \u201cBut then nothing\u2019s happened and I feel that ship has sailed.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tNonetheless, he added: \u201cBut I\u2019ll let you know, Tilda Swinton was mentioned somewhere as being a contender, and I feel she could be amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tIndeed, Swinton\u2019s name has been whispered to be in the combination for the part alongside Cillian Murphy, though the \u201cOppenheimer\u201d and \u201cPeaky Blinders\u201d star recently shut down the rumors. <\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cI don\u2019t know anything about that,\u201d Murphy said on Josh Horowitz\u2019s \u201cPleased Sad Confused\u201d podcast. \u201cAlso, it\u2019s just really hard to follow anything Ralph Fiennes does. The person is an absolute acting legend, so good luck to whoever\u2019s gonna fill those shoes.\u201d <\/p>\n
\n\tFiennes had also previously endorsed Murphy for the role, telling Andy Cohen on \u201cWatch What Happens Live\u201d in December 2024: \u201cCillian is a unbelievable actor. That\u2019s a beautiful suggestion. I could be all in favor of Cillian. Yeah.\u201d<\/p>\n
