Regis Prograis explained his retirement decision during a post-fight chat with Ring Magazine. <\/p>\n

The 30-4 boxer admitted he was injured and \u2018terrified\u2019 ahead of his clash with Conor Benn. <\/p>\n

\u201cI knew this months ago, this was going to be my last fight, but I just didn\u2019t tell anybody,\u201d Prograis said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not going to lie, I used to be terrified going into this fight. The rumours and stuff about me being hurt, that was true. I used to be terrified. I didn\u2019t know if it was going to carry up. My son is correct here, I told him while you\u2019re terrified of something, you’ve gotten to undergo it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not going to lie, I wanted to drag out of this so bad. A month ago, I wanted to drag out of this fight, but I didn\u2019t. I kept pushing and pushing. Even today, I used to be considering of pulling out on the day of the fight, but I went through with it, and I\u2019m so glad I did.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s emotional for me because I knew this was going to be my last fight. This was an awesome fight for my last fight. Anyone like Conor Benn\u00a0in an arena like this with 70,000 people in a stadium.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dana White recently made headlines when he signed Conor Benn to Zuffa Boxing. <\/p>\n

The UFC CEO is believed to have given him a $15 million one-fight deal, which ended on Saturday night. <\/p>\n

White reacted to Benn\u2019s Netflix debut during his post-fight press conference at UFC 327. <\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, I watched the fight,\u201d the MMA mogul said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel he dominated.\u201d <\/p>\n

It seems likely that White and Benn will proceed to work together for the foreseeable future. <\/p>\n
