Paul Merson has rated Manchester United\u2019s probabilities of winning the Premier League next season following their impressive revival under Michael Carrick.<\/p>\n

Sitting sixth on the time of Ruben Amorim\u2019s sacking in January, United have climbed to 3rd within the Premier League since Carrick\u2019s appointment as caretaker manager.<\/p>\n

Manchester United have been certainly one of most in-form teams in Europe since Carrick took over, losing just certainly one of their last ten games.<\/p>\n

With the top-five Premier League teams qualifying for next season\u2019s Champions League, United look set to return to Europe\u2019s top club competition.<\/p>\n

It has also been suggested that Manchester United could once more challenge for the Premier League title, a trophy they’ve not won since Sir Alex Ferguson\u2019s retirement in 2013.<\/p>\n

But Merson says United are still \u2018not ready\u2019 to \u2018fight for the title\u2019, insisting they should bolster their squad this summer and prove they could be a more competitive force before being considered title contenders.<\/p>\n

The ex-Arsenal and England winger does expect Manchester United to qualify for the Champions League but has predicted they may drop points against relegation-battlers Leeds United of their next outing on Monday night.<\/p>\n

The Red Devils have had almost a complete month off since their last game, a 2-2 draw with Bournemouth back on March 20.<\/p>\n

\u2018It is a big rivalry,\u2019 Merson told Sportskeeda<\/a>.\u00a0\u2018Leeds\u00a0are playing well in the meanwhile, but they’ll\u2019t discover a goal.<\/p>\n

\u2018I assumed they did well against Manchester City, couldn\u2019t rating. Same with the Sunderland game as well.<\/p>\n

\u2018In case you take a look at the fixtures,\u00a0Manchester United\u00a0must have enough to qualify for the Champions League next season. But this remains to be a difficult game.<\/p>\n

\u2018If Chelsea beat Manchester City and United drew with Leeds, a win for the Blues within the match against them next weekend would mean they are only two points ahead of Rosenior\u2019s team! That\u2019s how tight it’s.<\/p>\n

\u2018I don\u2019t think Manchester United are able to fight for the title next season. They need a number of more players to are available in. I don\u2019t see them being competitive over 38 games with the identical team.<\/p>\n

\u2018Manchester United\u2019s focus should only be on getting back within the Champions League. In the event that they can stay in that competition, it gives them good money to construct their squad<\/p>\n

United\u2019s Amad Diallo recently backed Carrick for the role, saying: \u2018From a private view he\u2019s the proper man. He has quite a lot of experience; he knows the club and has the DNA.<\/p>\n

\u2018His relationship with every player is superb. Sometimes this type of manager can bring the club where they belong.<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s not the players who determine but my honest opinion is we\u2019re really glad to have Michael Carrick as a manager.\u2019<\/p>\n
