Eddie Hearn claims Tom Aspinall wasn\u2019t invited to UFC London <\/h2>\n

Tom Aspinall continues to be recovering from the double eye poke he suffered at UFC 321 in October. <\/p>\n

Fighting is off the cardboard for now, but Aspinall was still expected to enjoy UFC London as a fan. <\/p>\n

Eddie Hearn has now revealed why his Matchroom Talent Agency client didn\u2019t attend the event on March 21. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe was very surprised [that] he never got an invitation,\u201d the boxing promoter said when asked about Aspinall\u2019s absence from UFC London during an interview with Ariel Helwani on Tuesday. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe got a text from Dana [White] at about 6pm on the day of the fight saying, \u2018Would you want to return tonight?\u2019 And he lives five hours away. So, that wasn\u2019t ideal.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just find it baffling you could do an event within the UK and never invite the heavyweight world champion, who’s from the UK.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s be honest, it wasn\u2019t exactly a card for the large names, was it?<\/p>\n

\u201cTom Aspinall being there would\u2019ve been great for the event.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhether he was an afterthought or they simply forgot he lives thus far away from London, who knows? <\/p>\n

\u201cHe would\u2019ve gone, obviously, if he was invited.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tom Aspinall\u2019s latest comeback update<\/h2>\n

Tom Aspinall continues to be not medically cleared to fight after undergoing double eye surgery to repair the damage brought on by Ciryl Gane\u2018s fingers. <\/p>\n

On account of his absence, the powers that be have created an interim UFC heavyweight title.<\/p>\n

Gane and Alex Pereira will fight to crown a secondary champion at the burden on June 14. <\/p>\n

Aspinall is back within the gym training as he waits for the green light to resume full-contact sparring. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve not had rather a lot occurring, just been back within the gym doing a bit of sunshine training,\u201d he said earlier this month. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m still waiting to get fully cleared for contact on my eye, but we’re back within the gym doing a bit of bit.\u201d<\/p>\n
