Coventry head coach Frank Lampard is reportedly exploring a move to sign Chelsea teenager Jesse Derry on loan for next season. <\/p>\n

Derry left Crystal Palace to affix Chelsea\u2019s academy last summer, putting pen to paper on a four-year contract at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n

The 18-year-old forward went on to make his senior Chelsea debut within the side\u2019s FA Cup fourth-round victory over Hull City in February, coming on as a late substitute for Estevao on the MKM Stadium.<\/p>\n

But Derry, the son of ex-QPR and Palace midfielder Shaun, has since gone on to make just yet one more first-team appearance against Wrexham, with fierce competition for places blocking his path to regular first-team minutes under Liam Rosenior.<\/p>\n

In accordance with talkSPORT<\/a>, Coventry boss Lampard has recognised a possible opportunity and is planning to utilise his deep connections with Chelsea to get a short lived deal over the road for Derry in the summertime.<\/p>\n

Coventry currently sit ten points clear at the highest of the Championship table and can secure automatic promotion back to the Premier League should they avoid defeat away to Blackburn Rovers on Friday night. <\/p>\n

The Sky Blues have, subsequently, begun to attract up plans for the upcoming transfer window, with club bosses keen to strengthen their squad in several areas in preparation for the English top flight. <\/p>\n

The report claims a loan move for Derry is \u2018already being lined up\u2019 and Coventry consider the proposed switch could \u2018prove helpful for each parties\u2019.<\/p>\n

Derry\u2019s current contract with Chelsea, which he signed upon his arrival from Palace, runs through to June 2029.<\/p>\n

Facing the media prior to Chelsea\u2019s FA Cup fifth-round victory win over Wrexham last month, Rosenior revealed how the England Under-19 international had \u2018really impressed\u2019 him along with his performances in training and in Premier League 2.<\/p>\n
