This week on Legally Us<\/em><\/a>, Rachael Bennett, a licensed family law specialist and senior attorney at Sullivan Law & Associates, breaks down The Real Housewives of Miami<\/em> star Lisa Hochstein<\/strong> and her ex-boyfriend Jody Glidden\u2019s<\/strong> criminal charges in connection to her ex-husband, Leonard \u201cLenny\u201d Hochstein.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lisa, 43, and Glidden, 52, are each facing one count of interception of wire, oral, or electronic communications, in keeping with court documents obtained by Us Weekly<\/em> on Monday, April 13.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, April 15, Lisa turned herself in to authorities together with her attorney Jayne Weintraub telling TMZ<\/a> <\/em>that the give up was voluntary and that her client \u201chas nothing to cover\u201d because the legal process plays out.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is pretty serious. They\u2019re accused of secretly bugging Lenny\u2019s automotive with a listening device. Now, some states require what\u2019s called an \u2018All Party Consent\u2019 if you happen to\u2019re going to record someone, and in Florida, that\u2019s definitely one among the laws there,\u201d Bennett explains to Us. \u201cThat implies that if you happen to record someone without their knowledge or permission, that recording is taken into account to have been obtained illegally in Florida. Based on the documents from March 12 to March 31, 2023, Lisa and Glidden allegedly \u201cunlawfully and intentionally\u201d intercepted, attempted to intercept, or sought to have others intercept oral communications involving Lisa\u2019s ex-husband, Leonard \u2018Lenny\u2019 Hochstein, in addition to those he spoke with.\u201d<\/p>\n

Weintraub, together with Howard Srebnick and Frank Gaviria, Glidden\u2019s lawyer, told Us on Monday that \u201cThis matter is a component of a contentious divorce proceeding and doesn’t belong in criminal court,\u201d which Bennett says could \u201cprovide key context.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAs everyone knows, divorces can absolutely bring out the worst type of behavior from even essentially the most reasonable people,\u201d Bennett tells Us. \u201cBut this defense may be seen as an effort to downplay the situation, so I believe she\u2019s going to should watch out not to reduce her actions here if these claims are true.\u201d<\/p>\n
