Chennai Super Kings have lodged a grievance with the Board of Control for Cricket in India regarding the DJ\u2019s song selection and remarks during their away fixture against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on April 5 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The franchise specifically objected to the track \u201cDosa, idli, sambar, chutney, chutney\u201d being played just before the beginning of their innings.<\/span><\/p>\n Based on the five-time champions, the song, often used as background audio in memes related to South Indian stereotypes, was inappropriate in that context. A senior IPL official has confirmed the grievance, adding that the governing council will review the matter.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe have now received a grievance from CSK and are looking into it,\u201d the official said.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Kasi Viswanathan, Managing Director of Chennai Super Kings, confirmed that the franchise has brought the problem to the notice of the Board of Control for Cricket in India. He also stated that certain remarks were directed at CSK players in the course of the match.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe DJs are frequently around to support the house team. But on the Chinnaswamy Stadium, it was different.\u00a0Certain comments were made against our players. Considering it, we have now written to the BCCI to take a look into it,\u201d he said while talking to the Indian Express.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n The controversy surrounding the \u201cDosa, Idli\u201d song began last 12 months when Royal Challengers Bengaluru shared a video of their wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma singing the track ahead of their match against Chennai Super Kings. <\/span><\/p>\n He was subsequently trolled by CSK supporters, prompting the franchise management to intervene and make clear that no remarks could be made against opposition players or fans.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cAfter that incident, there hasn\u2019t been any repeat of it. The DJ isn\u2019t imagined to make any comment on the opposition players.
