Talk of Conor McGregor headlining International Fight Week has not convinced one UFC legend.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The previous two-division champion pointed to 2026 because the yr by which he would make his return to the UFC Octagon, but he stays with out a comeback date on the calendar.<\/p>\n

Chael Sonnen expects Conor McGregor\u2019s UFC return to be at Madison Square Garden in November<\/h2>\n

Journalist Ariel Helwani reported that Max Holloway is the frontrunner to fight McGregor at UFC 329 in Las Vegas on July 11.<\/p>\n

But during a recent Q&A session on his YouTube<\/a> channel, Sonnen downplayed the likelihood of that taking place.<\/p>\n

As a substitute, \u2018The Bad Guy\u2019 suggested that McGregor\u2019s long-awaited UFC return could occur 4 months later at Madison Square Garden in Recent York City.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don’t think he\u2019s gonna fight International Fight Week,\u201d Sonnen said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI do imagine that Conor desires to return. I imagine he\u2019s going to return. I imagine the almost certainly date, if we take a look at the calendar straight away \u2014 and it is a guess, because many persons are saying International Fight Week.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel in the event you take a look at the calendar as is, what spot do you insert McGregor into? I imagine November at Madison Square Garden is currently the leading proposition,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

In his last fight, McGregor broke his leg against Dustin Poirier within the UFC 264 major event.<\/p>\n

Since then, the Dubliner has had a planned return against Michael Chandler fall through. Following their stint as coaches on The Ultimate Fighter<\/em>, a summer 2024 bout was canceled after McGregor broke his toe.<\/p>\n
