An Indian oil tanker captain was heard pleading with the Iranian Navy after the ship was fired upon within the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n

After the Sanmar Herald Oil Tanker was fired upon within the vital waterway, a radio exchange captured the captain and the Navy pleading with one another.<\/p>\n

\u2018That is motor vessel, Sanmar Herald,\u2019 the captain said.<\/p>\n

\u2018You gave me clearance to go. My name is second in your list. You might be firing now. Let me turn back.\u2019<\/p>\n

Tracking showed that the oil tanker attempted to depart the Persian Gulf through the Strait of Hormuz, before turning around and fleeing.<\/p>\n

The Iranian Navy said: \u2018We warn that no ship, of any kind, should leave its anchorage within the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.<\/p>\n

\u2018Any try and approach the Strait of Hormuz can be considered cooperation with the enemy, and the offending vessel can be targeted.\u2019<\/p>\n

Iran announced barely 24 hours ago that the important thing shipping lane could be \u2018completely open\u2019 all through the present ceasefire agreement.<\/p>\n

But they closed it again yesterday morning in retaliation after the US pressed ahead with its blockade of Iranian ports.<\/p>\n

Iran\u2019s joint military command said \u2018control of the Strait of Hormuz has returned to its previous state \u2026 under strict management and control of the armed forces\u2019.<\/p>\n

It warned it could proceed to dam transits while the US blockade remained in effect.<\/p>\n

For\u00a0Iran, the strait\u2019s closure \u2014 imposed after the US and Israel launched the war on February 28 during talks over Tehran\u2019s\u00a0nuclear program\u00a0\u2014 is maybe its strongest weapon, threatening the world economy and inflicting political pain on Trump.<\/p>\n

Yesterday, the US president said NATO can \u2018stay away\u2019 from the Middle East \u2018unless they simply wish to load up their ships with oil\u2019.<\/p>\n

Nato countries had refused Trump\u2019s repeated calls to assist him force open the shipping route, which Iran effectively shut down following the US and Israeli attack.<\/p>\n

Brent crude fell greater than 10% to only over 89 US dollars a barrel in afternoon trading on Friday, and stock markets across Europe also soared.<\/p>\n

The FTSE 100 index lifted 0.6% to 10,656, while the Dax in Germany surged 2% and France\u2019s Cac 40 was 1.7% higher.<\/p>\n

The US and Iran are in the course of a fragile truce which is as a result of last until April 22, while Israel and Lebanon have begun a 10-day ceasefire.<\/p>\n
