The Dallas Stars are quite used to losing the primary games of their respective playoffs series. That trend continued on Saturday. Dallas dropped the primary game of their series with the Minnesota Wild, by a 6-1 rating.<\/p>\n

It was one more disappointing effort<\/a> from the Stars to open the Stanley Cup Playoffs.<\/p>\n

\u201cLosing this Game 1 of the Western Conference quarterfinals in front of their fans on the American Airlines Center marked the ninth time of their past 11 playoff series that they’ve fallen within the opening contest,\u201d ESPN reported.<\/p>\n

Stars players know that history, but refuse to let it define them.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s a protracted series, it is a best-of-seven, and it’s one game,\u201d Stars defenseman\u00a0Miro Heiskanen said postgame. \u201cWe’ve to be higher than that, but there’s a superb probability to win this one still. It’s only one game, but we have now to be higher. We’ve to maneuver on and get back to it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Still, Dallas looked woeful on Saturday. The Wild got just about whatever they wanted offensively, because the team cruised to a lopsided win.<\/p>\n

\u201cI believe the last goal was bad, but I believe I did good things and I believe there are things I might have been higher at,\u201d Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger said.<\/p>\n

It was a tricky night for Dallas. The Stars entered the Stanley Cup Playoffs as one in all the most well liked teams within the NHL. Dallas had won five games in a row to finish the regular season, including a win over Minnesota.<\/p>\n

That every one didn’t really matter because the team got humbled at home Saturday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI believe all the fellows understand urgency,\u201d Stars coach Glen Gulutzan said. \u201cThis can be a veteran group. They understand urgency.\u201d<\/p>\n
