Ryan Giggs says Cole Palmer would \u2018fit the bill\u2019 and ease a number of the pressure on Bruno Fernandes if he were to affix Manchester United in the summertime transfer window.<\/p>\n

United spent within the region of \u00a3200million on overhauling their misfirng attack last summer, with Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko all arriving through the doors at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n

However the Red Devils are exploring potential avenues to further strengthen in the ultimate third at the tip of the season and Chelsea star Palmer, 23, has emerged as a real transfer goal.<\/p>\n

Having grown up supporting United, Palmer would reportedly be \u2018open\u2019 to the prospect of a move to the Theatre of Dreams, just three years on from his \u00a342.5million arrival at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n

Recent reports claimed Palmer has turn into disillusioned with life at Chelsea and frustrated the choice to dump Nicolas Jackson on loan to Bayern Munich ahead of the 2025\/26 campaign.<\/p>\n

Chelsea\u2019s hierarchy, though, are said to be adamant that Palmer is just not on the market \u2013 and the Club World Cup holders find themselves in a robust negotiating position given the England international\u2019s contract is just not on account of expire until 2033.<\/p>\n

Asked if Palmer would fit the bill at United on the Rio Presents YouTube channel<\/a>, Giggs told his former team-mate Rio Ferdinand: \u2018Yeah, he would, Manchester lad.<\/p>\n

\u2018Where would he play with obviously Bruno [Fernandes] at No.10? He could play off the precise possibly.<\/p>\n

Muscle problems and a broken toe have kept Palmer sidelined for 11 matches in what has been the forward\u2019s most difficult season yet since swapping Manchester City for Chelsea in 2023.<\/p>\n

He has, though, managed to rack up nine goals and an assist within the English top flight, with Liam Rosenior\u2019s side currently sitting sixth and susceptible to missing out on Champions League qualification. <\/p>\n

Chelsea\u2019s 1-0 defeat at home to United on the weekend meant Palmer has now gone seven games without finding the web \u2013 a statistic he will likely be little question be eager to put right when the club return to motion at Brighton on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n

In a wide-ranging interview with The Guardian<\/a> last week, Palmer brushed off the recent speculation over his Chelsea future and dismissed rumours he was \u2018missing\u2019 being back home in Manchester.<\/p>\n

\u2018Everyone just talks. Once I see it I just laugh,\u2019 he said. <\/p>\n

\u2018Obviously Manchester is my home. All my family are there, but I don\u2019t miss it. <\/p>\n

\u2018Perhaps I\u2019ll miss it if I don\u2019t go for 3 months or something. But then after I get home I feel there\u2019s nothing there for me anyway.<\/p>\n

\u2018I\u2019ve got no plans to maneuver from Chelsea. We\u2019ve still got so much to play for. We\u2019ve got the\u00a0FA Cup\u00a0semi-final and if we finish in a\u00a0Champions League\u00a0spot it puts us in position to sign players that we want.<\/p>\n

\u2018We spoke to the owners and so they\u2019re sure of the players which can be gonna do it. Reece [James] won\u2019t sign a six-year contract if he\u2019s not spoken to the owners and the administrators.<\/p>\n

\u2018Me and Reece spoke so much. About things we want, players we want to sign and the way things must be. He wouldn\u2019t sign a brand new contract if he didn\u2019t know what was occurring.\u2019<\/p>\n

Palmer is confident Chelsea can challenge for major silverware next season \u2013 so long as they get their recruitment right when the summer transfer window opens for business.<\/p>\n

\u2018We wish to win now and I feel if we add right in the summertime we are able to compete for serious trophies next season. I don\u2019t think we\u2019re far off,\u2019 he added.<\/p>\n

\u2018Should you sign the precise players in the precise positions and the precise characters and profiles, I feel we have now good enough quality to compete and be more consistent than we\u2019ve shown over this season.<\/p>\n

\u2018Bringing a manager in mid-season, you might have no pre-season, hardly have time to coach. You\u2019re just specializing in games. However the manager is nice and when he has a correct pre-season and gets his ideas across properly and the way in which he desires to play he\u2019s a top coach.<\/p>\n

\u2018If we as players perform to how we needs to be performing and we get the precise players we are able to, him and us as a gaggle, do some work.\u2019<\/p>\n
