He’s owed about $5.4MM in 2026, and a choice on his fifth-year option – projected by OverTheCap to be $22.5MM – should be made by May 1. Ballard said the Colts haven’t discussed Richardson’s option, but presumably, they don’t plan to select it up. And if one other club comes calling, they might not be able to commit that form of future money to a player with just 15 profession starts before he steps of their constructing.

That lack of playing time is partially resulting from injuries. Richardson missed most of his rookie season resulting from an AC shoulder sprain that required surgery, and he only appeared in two games last yr resulting from a fractured orbital bone that severely impacted his vision. That continues to be “a crucial aspect” in trade talks, Ballard said (via The Athletic’s James Boyd), adding that Richardson is cleared for activity, but “still recovering just a little bit.”

We’ve had some talks, but nothing’s come to fruition at the moment,” Ballard continued. Several teams have been mentioned as potential matches for Richardson, and the Packers have expressed interest, per Chappell.

Moore, meanwhile, has been one in all the league’s most consistent, reliable slot corners for the higher a part of the last decade. He informed the Colts that he was searching for a change of scenery, and the front office agreed to hunt a trade. He is about to earn $10MM in 2026, a good price for a starting-caliber nickel with nine years of experience, but other teams may attempt to wait the Colts out. Ballard indicated that Moore might be released outright if he doesn’t generate any trade interested. Moderately than pay Moore $10MM and quit draft capital, teams can wait for him to hit free agency and potentially sign him at a cheaper price.

Neither Kenny Moore nor Anthony Richardson were present at first of the Colts’ offseason program, based on FOX59’s Mike Chappell.
