The redemption of Series 5 is a step on this direction as we plan to trim our preferred shares to a more comfortable level of around P4.0 billion within the medium term,\u201d Megawide Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Edgar B. Saavedra said in a media release on Monday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">In a separate regulatory filing, Megawide said its board approved on March 12 the redemption of its Series 5 preferred shares on April 17, three years after their listing in 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The corporate said it has taken advantage of strong investor interest by actively participating within the capital markets through the years, leading to P8.2 billion price of preferred shares.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cDespite the continued war within the Middle East, we expect a robust performance this yr \u2014 especially in the true estate and social infrastructure development space anchored on the federal government\u2019s socialized housing program under the expanded 4PH,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">For 2025, the corporate\u2019s order book reached P50 billion, up 50% from 2024, driven mainly by residential project contracts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The corporate said the order book represents about three to 4 years\u2019 price of revenue and serves as an indicator of its construction segment\u2019s performance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Megawide said residential projects accounted for 35% of the full order book, followed by office and industrial projects at 28%, expanded Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) projects at 23%, and infrastructure at 15%.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The corporate said its order book will translate into construction-related revenues in the following two to 3 years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s3\">\u201cBut we proceed to be vigilant and agile to be sure that our growth prospects remain intact while maintaining a tally of opportunities which will arise amid the crisis,\u201d Mr. Saavedra said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">On the local bourse on Monday, shares in the corporate fell by three centavos, or 1.02%, to shut at P2.92 each. \u2014 <b>Ashley Erika O.
