Jiri Prochazka has received some rare criticism following his recent loss in Miami.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Carlos Ulberg recently underwent surgery for the leg injury he overcame to win the vacant light heavyweight title at UFC 327.<\/p>\n

<\/figure>\n

In his immediate response to the fight, Prochazka blamed his loss on showing Ulberg mercy resulting from the compromised nature of his opponent.<\/p>\n

This take hasn\u2019t gone down well with some fans and fighters before the previous champion looked to clarify his thoughts in additional detail.<\/p>\n

Jiri Prochazka says he lost focus and was waiting for the referee to stop his fight with Carlos Ulberg<\/h2>\n

Last week, Jiri Prochazka said he\u2019d address his critics when announcing the birth of his daughter via social media.<\/p>\n

The previous light heavyweight champion did this in the shape of a video posted on X<\/a>, where he looked to make clear his feelings on the fight following comments that he believes are \u201cnonsense\u201d.<\/p>\n

Prochazka firmly believes that he lost focus at UFC 327 from the moment that Carlos Ulberg injured his leg, explaining why this took away from his performance.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can say for myself that I do know from the moment that happened to him, I wasn\u2019t at one hundred pc anymore,\u201d he said. \u201cI used to be at perhaps forty, fifty percent of my performance and I used to be just sparring and waiting for the referee to stop the fight at any moment. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt was an enormous mistake, perhaps certainly one of the most important. I don\u2019t wish to beat myself up about it nonstop because crucial thing is at all times to learn from it and move forward stronger.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ulberg was very critical of Prochazka for taking away from his win by making the narrative after the fight about his mercy comments.<\/p>\n

The Czech fan favorite said within the video that he\u2019s felt what \u2018Black Jag\u2019 was going through in that moment and gave him credit for fighting through it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI do know what that\u2019s like because this happened to me once in a fight in Japan,\u201d Prochazka reflected. \u201cI fought through that match but I do know what it\u2019s like \u2013 the pain, the struggle. So, all credit to him for managing to maintain a cool head, for catching me with that hook.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Prochazka\u2019s comments a few rematch have been shut down, in his caption for the video, he wrote that he believes he\u2019ll fight for the title again before Ulberg returns from his injury.<\/p>\n

He also stated in the course of the video that in the intervening time, he\u2019s focused on supporting his partner and daughter and dismissed comments from fighters like Magomed Ankalaev who’ve also criticized him.<\/p>\n
