A fighter with 56 bouts to his name has stepped away after wanting one last war.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This past weekend saw Gilbert Burns announce his retirement following his fifth consecutive loss contained in the Octagon.<\/p>\n

<\/figure>\n

Burns has had some great fights with the likes of Khamzat Chimaev but his final run within the promotion made it clear that this was the best time for him to step away.<\/p>\n

One other fighter who was in motion this past weekend has also decided to hold up the gloves following one last roll of the dice that didn\u2019t go his way.<\/p>\n

Chris Camozzi pronounces his retirement following BKFC title fight loss<\/h2>\n

At BKFC 88 on Friday night, Chris Camozzi was stopped by Esteban Rodriguez of their most important event clash for the interim cruiserweight title.<\/p>\n

The previous UFC fighter competed 19 times contained in the Octagon, facing the likes of Ronaldo \u2018Jacare\u2019 Souza, Lorenz Larkin, and Thales Leites. <\/p>\n

Camozzi announced his retirement on Instagram<\/a> and suggested that he knew he was heading into his last dance this past weekend.<\/p>\n

\u201cI told my team going into this last one, \u2018If I can\u2019t knock him out instantly, I need a war so I can feel it yet one more time\u2019 and that\u2019s what I got and it feels good. Unfortunately, I couldn\u2019t see anymore to proceed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Camozzi received praise from Conor McGregor when he won the BKFC cruiserweight title by stopping Sawyer Depee in 2024.<\/p>\n

The 39-year-old summarized his profession by saying that after making his pro debut in 2006, he competed in 56 skilled fights in MMA, kickboxing, and bare-knuckle.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fight game has given me every part in my life and I\u2019m eternally grateful. I don\u2019t know where I\u2019d be, if I didn\u2019t occur to walk within the gym that first day. I\u2019ll eternally have love for the sport and I still plan on being an element of it in other ways.<\/p>\n

\u201cThanks everyone,\u201d he concluded. \u201cI\u2019m excited for the following chapter of my life and I\u2019ll proceed to be a fan of the game, former opponents, friends!\u201d<\/p>\n
