The San Jose Sharks are in no rush to work out an extension with Macklin Celebrini<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Curtis Pashelka<\/a><\/strong>: San Jose Sharks GM Mike Grier said that he’s open to signing forwards Maklin Celebrini and Will Smith to contract extensions this offseason. He said there isn’t any rush and it\u2019s advantageous in the event that they don\u2019t get extensions done within the offseason.<\/p>\n

Curtis Pashelka of The Mercury News<\/strong><\/a>: Macklin Celebrini is contract extension eligible on July 1st, and he said on Saturday that he\u2019s open for anything.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m just open to each possibility. There\u2019s nothing really that goes into it. It goes hand in hand with me. I would like to commit to this team and being here. I adore it here. I\u2019m open to whatever happens.\u201d<\/p>\n

GM Mike Grier said he hasn\u2019t spoken with Celebrini\u2019s agent, Pat Brisson, and added there\u2019s numerous time and no rush.<\/p>\n

Celebrini is in line for an enormous payday. Kirill Kaprizov has the most important NHL deal at eight years and $17 million per. Leon Draisaitl is up next at $14 million per.<\/p>\n

Elliotte Friedman on this 32 Thoughts: The Podcast said that he believes Celebrini\u2019s camp can be in search of three to 5 years and never seven or eight. The Sharks could also be okay with anything aside from 4 years as that might walk him right to unrestricted free agency.<\/p>\n
