Como chief Carlalberto Ludi says he’s relaxed about Cesc Fabregas\u2019 future and \u2018confident\u2019 the previous Chelsea midfielder will remain as manager \u2018for a very long time\u2019.<\/p>\n

Fabregas, 38, has won himself loads of admirers along with his outstanding work in command of Como having led the side to promotion from the Italian second tier in the summertime of 2024.<\/p>\n

Como finished ninth on their return to Serie A final season \u2013 their highest finish since 1987 \u2013 and the Lombardy-based outfit are on the right track to higher that this term, sitting fifth within the table with five matches remaining of the campaign.<\/p>\n

Fabregas\u2019 men had also appeared on the right track to advance through to this 12 months\u2019s Coppa Italia final on Tuesday night, just for Inter Milan rating two late goals to interrupt Como hearts in a dramatic semi-final second leg.<\/p>\n

After three straight defeats in all competitions, Como\u2019s squad shall be eager to get their season back on target once they return to motion away to Genoa this weekend.<\/p>\n

Considering Como have never before competed in Europe,\u00a0Champions League\u00a0qualification would represent a remarkable achievement for Fabregas in what is just his second season as everlasting manager.<\/p>\n

Nonetheless, the Spaniard\u2019s exploits are naturally starting to draw the attentions of a few of the biggest names in world football, along with his former clubs Barcelona and Chelsea amongst those linked.<\/p>\n

Calls for Chelsea to explore a move for Fabregas have only intensified as pressure continues to mount on Liam Rosenior, whose side have lost five league games in a row without scoring a goal for the primary time since 1912.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Just last month, Como\u2019s president Mirwan Suwarso told\u00a0Revista Undici<\/a>: \u2018Cesc is basically very essential for us. <\/p>\n

\u2018But\u00a0we could be silly to not think that someday he could go to\u00a0Arsenal,\u00a0Barcelona\u00a0or Chelsea.<\/p>\n

\u2018If he continues to win with us or in any case to achieve success, even when I cannot speak for him, I consider he could have greater dreams.\u2019<\/p>\n

But speaking just moments before the club\u2019s defeat to Inter on Tuesday night, Como\u2019s sporting director, Ludi, sent out a rather different message, backing \u2018phenomenon\u2019 Fabregas to remain put for the foreseeable future.<\/p>\n

\u2018Cesc is our linchpin, around whom our entire project is centred,\u2019 Ludi told SportMediaset.<\/p>\n

\u2018He\u2019s a phenomenon, I\u2019ve been saying it for 3 years now, and he\u2019s growing every month. <\/p>\n

\u2018He has an incredible desire to learn and improve, he has an ambition and a hunger like no other. <\/p>\n

\u2018We owe him lots, I feel we\u2019re aligned culturally and by way of objectives, and I\u2019m confident we\u2019ll proceed together for a very long time because just as we give a lot to him, he also gives a lot back to us every single day.\u2019<\/p>\n

Asked if and the club were afraid Fabregas could also be coaxed away in the summertime, Ludi replied: \u2018We\u2019ve never been afraid. <\/p>\n

\u2018After that, we\u2019ll see. We cannot predict the long run but we\u2019re confident in the connection we have now with Cesc and the work we do every single day.\u2019<\/p>\n

When facing the media, Fabregas has been keen to distance himself from speculation and rumours that he might be set for the exit door at Como before too long.<\/p>\n

On the annual Enzo Bearzot Award ceremony last week, the 2010 World Cup winner insisted he remained fully committed to Como and never even considering the prospect of switching clubs.<\/p>\n

\u2018I’m very committed to this project.\u00a0You never know, but without delay I feel it\u2019s impossible I\u2019ll leave Como,\u2019 he explained.<\/p>\n

Should Chelsea replace Rosenior with Fabregas?<\/h3>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\u2018Last 12 months, I desired to see how other clubs operated. I discussed it to the president, but I made a decision to remain.<\/p>\n

\u2018I\u2019m very glad with what we\u2019ve been capable of achieve. That is a crucial project.<\/p>\n
