The UFC Winnipeg star has addressed the rumors that she fought her fight with a nicotine pouch in her mouth.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This past Saturday at UFC Winnipeg, Canadian star Jasmine Jasudavicius returned to motion for the primary time in six months when she took on Karine Silva.<\/p>\n

The 37-year-old successfully bounced back from her title eliminator bout against Manon Fiorot with a unanimous decision win in front of her home crowd.<\/p>\n

But just days after her win in Winnipeg, video footage began to emerge online of Jasudavicius with what looked like a nicotine pouch in her mouth during her fight.<\/p>\n

Jasudavicius claims it was chewing gum in her mouth during her fight<\/h2>\n

Within the footage that began to flow into online, you would clearly see a white object in her mouth in between rounds, and before putting her mouthguard back in, she shifted the item underneath her bottom lip.<\/p>\n

This led to fans accusing her of using a \u2018zyn\u2019 during her fight, which is prohibited within the Unified Rules of MMA, as are some other foreign objects within the mouth.<\/p>\n

UFC legend Benson Henderson famously fought several fights throughout his profession with a toothpick in his mouth and UFC boss Dana White called it \u2018the craziest thing I\u2019ve ever seen\u2019.<\/p>\n

And now, Jasudavicius has addressed the rumors, claiming that it was just a bit of chewing gum in her mouth.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s so funny that everyone seems to be saying I had a nicotine pouch in,\u201d Jasudavicius told the Ariel Helwani show<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, I train with gum and I used to be warming up with gum, sometimes I like, I\u2019ve fought with gum in my mouth prior to now, but I forgot to spit it out before the walkout and it was just still in my mouth, higher than a toothpick.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel it\u2019s hilarious, I don\u2019t really care, it\u2019s funny to me. Hey, I like that folks are talking about it. I all the time have gum. Okay, if I choke on it (it\u2019s my fault), I all the time train with gum.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t even give it some thought, it went in with my mouthguard and I still chew it normal, after which I just took it in between my lip after which in the course of the rounds I actually have a few chews.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 37-year-old went on to say that chewing gum while she is sparring or fighting helps her regulate her respiration.<\/p>\n

Technically, having chewing gum in the course of the fight continues to be in breach of the Unified Rules of MMA, nevertheless, it is incredibly unlikely that Jasudavicius faces any repercussions.<\/p>\n
