Despite once being bitter rivals, Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor now have a particularly strong relationship.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Back in 2015, Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor finally met within the Octagon to settle their long rivalry for the undisputed UFC featherweight title.<\/p>\n

The fight marked the tip of what was a particularly entertaining and hectic few months for the pair, as they accomplished a world tour of press conferences to advertise their fight.<\/p>\n

And through that point, Aldo built up a lot of a hatred for \u2018The Notorious\u2019 Irishman that it ended up costing him his title as he was knocked out after just 13 seconds.<\/p>\n

Aldo explains how his relationship with McGregor completely modified<\/h2>\n

Even years after their fight it was clear that the Brazilian legend still had a hatred for McGregor, although they never met within the Octagon again.<\/p>\n

Despite that, the 39-year-old has explained that his relationship with McGregor has now drastically modified and so they now have a robust friendship.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat’s my relationship with Conor like now? It\u2019s superb,\u201d Aldo told Jackpot City Casino.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot only with Conor, but with all my opponents, I\u2019ve all the time had respect and a certain fondness for everybody. We exchange messages every now and then. Recently I told him I used to be very joyful he accepted Jesus as his saviour. I congratulated him and all that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Over the previous couple of months, the Irishman has been extremely open regarding his faith and the spiritual journey he has been on after being \u2018shown his death\u2019 during trauma treatment.<\/p>\n

\u201cBrazilian fans feel strongly due to how our fight went and all the things that happened. But I actually have relationship with him and I all the time wish him one of the best. I hope he continues on the proper path and does great things in life,\u201d Aldo continued.<\/p>\n

The previous UFC double champion is seemingly gearing up for his return to the cage despite having been snubbed of a return on the UFC White House card.<\/p>\n

The 37-year-old is as an alternative expected to fight on International Fight Week\u2019s UFC 329 this coming July 11, and it’s currently rumored that Max Holloway is the frontrunner to fight him in his return.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf it happened now, I feel it could be a terrific fight for each Conor and Holloway. Each are stand-up fighters, similar in age, it\u2019s a terrific matchup and a terrific comeback opportunity for Conor,\u201d Aldo stated.<\/p>\n
