Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet<\/strong><\/a>: Sources have said that the Vancouver Canucks have asked the Toronto Maple Leafs for permission to talk with special advisor to the GM, Shane Doan. It\u2019s not known what position the Canucks are pondering with Doan.<\/p>\n

Iain MacIntyre<\/strong><\/a>: \u201cRe\u00a0<\/span>@FriedgeHNIC<\/a><\/span>\u00a0report Canucks have asked Leafs permission to talk to special advisor Shane Doan, Jim Rutherford has left open possibility he could leave as president soon after hiring latest GM. Canucks could also be looking beyond GM role as they interview candidates.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
