Prince Harry arrived in Kyiv Thursday on an unannounced trip to the Ukrainian capital.<\/p>\n

Harry, whose visit comes because the country endures its fifth 12 months of war with Russia, said it was \u201cgood to be back in Ukraine\u201d upon arrival at the town\u2019s essential railway station, where he greeted a line of officials awaiting him on the platform.<\/p>\n

Upon arrival, the Duke of Sussex said Ukraine was \u201ca rustic bravely and successfully defending Europe\u2019s eastern flank,\u201d and that \u201cit matters that we don\u2019t lose sight of the importance of that.\u201d<\/p>\n

The prince also spoke on Thursday at a security conference, where he delivered a keynote address and told Russian President Vladimir Putin there’s \u201cstill a moment, now, to stop this war,\u201d British news outlet ITV reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cYears into this war, with immense losses and limited gains, it’s increasingly clear that this path offers no victor \u2014 only more loss,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cPresident Putin, no nation advantages from the continued lack of life we’re witnessing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Harry added that he was not there as a politician but \u201cas a soldier who understands service, as a humanitarian who has seen the human cost of conflict, \u2060and as \u200ba friend of Ukraine who believes the world \u200bmust not grow used to this war or numb to its consequences.\u201d<\/p>\n

He went on to handle the Trump administration, calling on Washington to do more and reminding it that it had an obligation to guard Ukraine after the country agreed to present up its nuclear weapons.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a moment for American leadership \u2014 a moment for America to indicate that it could possibly honour its international treaty obligations \u2014 not out of charity, but out of its enduring role in global security and strategic stability,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
