Six free agent targets for the Toronto Maple Leafs<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Terry Koshan of the Toronto Sun<\/strong><\/a>: The Toronto Maple Leafs may have just over $22 million to work with this offseason, and that’s with 20 players under contract. The UFA market isn\u2019t what everyone had hoped it could be, and there will likely be competition as many clubs have money to work with. An inventory of players who could interest the Leafs.<\/p>\n

Darren Raddysh<\/a> \u2013 Tampa Bay Lightning \u2013 RHD \u2013 A late-blooming 30-year-old from Toronto. He may very well be within the $7 million range.<\/p>\n

Alex Tuch<\/a> \u2013 Buffalo Sabres \u2013 RW \u2013 A top-six winger who will likely be searching for $10-$11 million.<\/p>\n

Rasmus Andersson<\/a> \u2013 Vegas Golden Knights\u00a0 \u2013 RHD \u2013 Former Leafs GM Brad Treliving tried to amass him several times. Will probably be searching for a raise. Paying him could also be easier in the event that they traded Morgan Rielly<\/a> and his $7.5 million cap hit.<\/p>\n

Jacob Trouba<\/a> \u2013 Anaheim Geese \u2013 RHD \u2013 The 32-year-old logged almost 23 minutes a game. Put up 35 points while blocking 149 shots and throwing 143 hits.<\/p>\n

Connor Murphy<\/a> \u2013 Edmonton Oilers \u2013 RHD \u2013 The 33-year-old was linked to the Leafs prior to the trade deadline. Doesn\u2019t bring offence, but he\u2019d be a third-pairing upgrade over Simon Benoit<\/a>, Philippe Myers<\/a>, and Troy Stecher<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Five GM Candidates for the Toronto Maple Leafs<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Lance Hornby of the Toronto Sun<\/strong><\/a>: Five GM candidates who keep coming up within the Toronto Maple Leafs search. They\u2019d prefer to get it done by the top of April, possibly this week, despite Keith Pelley saying the rough goal is late May.<\/p>\n

Mike Gillis<\/a> \u2013 GM of the Canuacks from 2008 to 2014, and hasn\u2019t been with any team since then.<\/p>\n

Ryan Martin \u2013 Rangers assistant GM and AHL Hartford GM. Has interviewed with the Predators.<\/p>\n

John Chayka \u2013 Former Arizona Coyotes GM, who listened to offers while under contract with the Coyotes, unauthorized testing of potential draft picks.<\/p>\n

Scott White \u2013 Dallas Stars director of hockey operations. AHL Texas GM. Interest from the Canucks and Predators.<\/p>\n

Evan Gold \u2013 Boston Bruins assistant GM.<\/p>\n

NHL Rumors: Detroit Red Wings, and the Toronto Maple Leafs<\/a><\/p>\n

Other Maple Leafs hockey department candidates<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Lance Hornby of the Toronto Sun<\/strong><\/a>: Ryan Martin, Scott White and Evan Gold only have assistant GM experience, so if the Toronto Maple Leafs were to rent any of them, would in addition they be trying to hire a director of hockey operations?<\/p>\n

Keith Pelley could make a call this week or next. Mike Gillis might not be within the GM talk, but possibly for more of a supervisory position. Mats Sundin<\/a> may very well be in an advisory role. Darren Dreger has mentioned Gary Roberts<\/a> as a possible consultant.<\/p>\n
