\u201cThe US government has information indicating that foreign entities, principally based in\u00a0China, are engaged in deliberate,\u00a0industrial-scale\u00a0campaigns to distil US frontier\u00a0AI\u00a0systems,\u201d Michael Kratsios, director of the\u00a0White\u00a0House\u00a0Office of Science and\u00a0Technology\u00a0Policy, wrote in a memo shared on social media on Thursday and first reported by the Financial Times.<\/p>\n
\u201cLeveraging tens of 1000’s of proxy accounts to evade detection and using jailbreaking techniques to show proprietary information, these coordinated campaigns systematically extract capabilities from American\u00a0AI\u00a0models, exploiting American expertise and innovation,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
