A special preview was unveiled at CinemaCon 2026 in Las Vegas, following which Yash shared what really sets the film apart. He opened up about working with Geetu Mohandas and why the project feels different from typical motion movies.<\/p>\n
In an industry where large-scale motion movies have historically been helmed by male directors, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups is helmed by a female filmmaker, Geetu Mohandas. Yash highlighted how this film breaks stereotypes in cinema. He described the experience as \u201crefreshing,\u201d adding that Geetu Mohandas brings a special perspective to the genre.<\/p>\n
Speaking concerning the experience, Yash shared, \u201cThat\u2019s probably the most exciting part. While you say motion movies, it\u2019s generally been restricted to male directors in India. A big-scale gangster film with a female gaze is something very latest and refreshing.\u201d<\/p>\n
He went on to emphasise Mohandas\u2019 clarity and inventive conviction, adding that her perspective brought a singular emotional depth to the narrative. \u201cHer thoughts are very clear, and she or he has a robust conviction in whatever she does. She\u2019s a superb author\u2014I could learn a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n
Reflecting on the nuances she brings to storytelling, Yash noted how her lens reshaped his understanding of emotional and sensual storytelling. \u201cThe specified quotient of certain emotions\u2014romance or sensuality\u2014how a girl can present it’s entirely different. That\u2019s something I\u2019ve realized on this journey.\u201d<\/p>\n
Other than Yash, the film encompasses a powerful forged of female characters, including Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria, who play pivotal roles\u2014making it much more intriguing to see how these narratives unfold inside a genre traditionally dominated by male perspectives.<\/p>\n
