Suffering a broken jaw by the hands of Joshua (quite literally), Paul underwent two jaw surgeries and was even indefinitely suspended from boxing.<\/p>\n<p>As a consequence of the severity of the injuries, Paul is probably not back in motion until early 2027. Nonetheless, once he comes back, \u201cThe Problem Child\u201d has expressed his desire to fight Francis Ngannou. Despite belonging to the cruiserweight class himself, Paul faced heavyweight Joshua last 12 months. Although he lost, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=HqBi8jCq69g&#038;t=725s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">he continues to be willing to run it back<\/a>, potentially against Ngannou.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah, it\u2019s a superb query and never super fascinated by the subsequent opponent necessarily and more fascinated by what the general goal is, and I believe that continues to be to make the trail to world champion and to fight people at my weight class. The one outlier is Francis Ngannou, but I\u2019m definitely a cruiserweight and learned that against Anthony Joshua,\u201d Paul said while talking to Chris Mannix during an interview.<\/p>\n<p>Ngannou made a reputation for himself in UFC from 2015 to 2022, where he won the UFC Heavyweight Championship. Nonetheless, he relinquished it after not coming to terms with Dana White on a brand new contract. Following this, he joined PFL, where he became the inaugural PFL Super Fights Heavyweight Champion. Ngannou soon transitioned into boxing, where he fought Tyson Fury in his debut in 2023 and Anthony Joshua in 2024.
