Gilbert Burns set to make grappling return in match against Piter Frank at Connect Heroes<\/h2>\n

A loss to Mike Malott led Gilbert Burns to retire after he admitted that he doesn\u2019t wish to proceed fighting simply to make up the numbers within the welterweight division.<\/p>\n

As a former multiple-time IBJJF world champion, \u2018Durinho\u2019 got here into MMA as a jiu-jitsu specialist, though he didn\u2019t all the time use this skillset contained in the Octagon.<\/p>\n

Lower than every week on from his UFC retirement, it was announced that Burns shall be returning to his grappling roots on July 11.<\/p>\n

The 39-year-old is booked to face Piter Frank at Connect Heroes in a jiu-jitsu match in Rio de Janeiro.<\/p>\n

His fellow Brazilian Frank has competed in events like BJJ Stars, ADXC and the UFC Fight Pass Invitational in recent times.<\/p>\n

Before this matchup was announced for the primary edition of Connect Heroes, the potential of seeing it occur was teased on social media, which Frank responded to by calling Burns an \u201cidol\u201d.<\/p>\n
