Based on Joe Rogan, the UFC middleweight champion will proceed facing problems against \u2018elite wrestlers\u2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This coming May 9, Khamzat Chimaev will make the primary defense of his 185lb title when he takes on Sean Strickland within the UFC 328 principal event.<\/p>\n

The pair of middleweights have been locked into an intense rivalry over the past few months, to the purpose that UFC boss Dana White canceled an element of their pre-fight buildup.<\/p>\n

And despite the fact that \u2018Borz\u2019 is being heavily favoured to retain his title in Newark, UFC icon Joe Rogan has detailed the issue Chimaev has faced and will face against Strickland.<\/p>\n

Rogan claims Chimaev is handing fighters who don\u2019t have \u2018elite wrestling\u2019<\/h2>\n

Up to now throughout his UFC tenure, the Chechen has looked relatively untouchable, dominating almost everyone put in front of him.<\/p>\n

Rogan, though, believes Chimaev is handling fighters who \u2018don\u2019t have a giant background in elite wrestling\u2019, highlighting his fights against Gilbert Burns and Kamaru Usman because the two fights he has looked beatable in.<\/p>\n

With that, the UFC commentator has suggested that the UFC 328 principal event could look different to what individuals are expecting.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Strickland and Khamzat fight goes to be very interesting,\u201d Rogan said on a recent episode of his podcast<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cStrickland isn’t a simple guy to take down and he\u2019s not a simple guy to carry down and he\u2019s a really difficult guy to hit on his feet, he\u2019s got a brilliant awkward style. His style could be very clever, it\u2019s very different, it\u2019s not something that\u2019s easy to copy so far as timing within the gym.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis jab is so accurate\u2026 To me, it\u2019s gonna be what can Khamzat do on the feet, can he clip him and may Strickland stop the takedowns?\u201d<\/p>\n

The previous middleweight champion has a takedown defense percentage of 76%, while Khamzat has a takedown accuracy percentage of 55%.<\/p>\n

When Chimaev fought the previous UFC welterweight champion, Usman, on short-notice, he attempted 12 takedowns and was only capable of rating 4 of them.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis timing on his takedowns is f\u2014\u2014 insane, it\u2019s so good. If I used to be going to make an argument against him, he\u2019s handling guys that don\u2019t have a giant background in elite wrestling, they\u2019re not elite grapplers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe one guy who was an elite grappler gave him problems\u2026 Kamaru Usman. That was a short-notice fight and within the third round Kamaru was winning. That may\u2019ve been very interesting if it was a five round fight.\u201d<\/p>\n
