Accused arrested months after Akshay Kumar spoke out on daughter\u2019s online harassment<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The incident, which the actor had shared in October 2025 during a cyber-awareness event in Mumbai, involved his daughter Nitara, who was 13 on the time. Akshay Kumar had used the experience to spotlight the risks children face on online gaming platforms and the importance of digital awareness.<\/p>\n Months later, in April 2026, police confirmed that an accused has been apprehended. The update was shared by Yashasvi Yadav, Additional Director General of Police, during a cyber-awareness session at R.D. National College.<\/p>\n Speaking concerning the case, Yadav said, \u201cHe (Akshay Kumar) had a really shocking story to share with us. He said that his own daughter was being sextorted. The girl was very brave and informed her parents. Through her parents, we received this information, and that’s how we handled the case.\u201d<\/p>\n Akshay Kumar had earlier detailed how the situation unfolded while his daughter was playing a web-based video game. Initially, the interaction appeared harmless, with polite exchanges from an unknown player. Nonetheless, the conversation soon escalated when the person began asking personal questions.<\/p>\n Recalling the moment, the actor had said, \u201cMy daughter was playing a video game… you might be fidgeting with an unknown stranger. When you find yourself playing, you get a message saying, \u2018Thanks, that was great\u2019 or \u2018You might be doing so good\u2019, very courteous messages… Suddenly, the person said, \u2018Where are you from?\u2019 She wrote, \u2018Mumbai\u2019. After which every thing was normal again.\u201d<\/p>\n The situation took a serious turn when the stranger asked about her gender and later made an inappropriate request. \u201cThen a message got here, \u2018Are you male or female?\u2019 She replied, \u2018Female\u2019. It went on. After which, he sent a message, \u2018Are you able to send me a nude picture of yours?\u2019 My daughter, she switched off the entire thing. She went and told my wife,\u201d he had shared.<\/p>\n The actor had stressed the importance of awareness amongst children and fogeys, declaring how such incidents often begin subtly before escalating. He said, \u201cThat is how things begin. This can also be an element of cybercrime. People and youngsters get carried away. Extortion money must be given. There are a lot of cases of suicides.
