Joe Rogan says former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum deserves more appreciation<\/h2>\n

To grow to be UFC heavyweight champ for the primary time, Miocic knocked out Fabricio Werdum at UFC 198 in Brazil.<\/p>\n

Werdum, a four-time\u00a0Brazilian jiu-jitsu\u00a0world champion and a member of the\u00a0ADCC Hall of Fame, competed in top promotions like\u00a0PRIDE, the\u00a0UFC,\u00a0and Strikeforce during a legendary profession spanning twenty years.<\/p>\n

In 2015, Werdum submitted Cain Velasquez to win the undisputed UFC heavyweight crown, beating a person widely seen because the division\u2019s best ever skill-for-skill.<\/p>\n

\u2018Vai Cavalo\u2019 also holds victories over Emelianenko, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Alistair Overeem, and Gabriel Gonzaga, and Rogan thinks many forget just how illustrious his r\u00e9sum\u00e9 is.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think there\u2019s an actual GOAT in heavyweight,\u201d the UFC commentator said on his Joe Rogan Experience<\/a><\/em> podcast. \u201cI believe there\u2019s times where one guy would have beaten all the opposite guys.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019ve gotta put Stipe in there because he defended the title greater than everybody\u2026 Cain, Fedor \u2014 in fact. Fedor is like, the true connoisseur. <\/p>\n

\u201cI all the time say everybody forgets about Fabricio Werdum,\u201d he continued. \u201cWerdum tapped Cain Velasquez, Minotauro Nogueira, and Fedor \u2014 and he tapped Fedor when he was Fedor<\/em>. <\/p>\n

\u201cWerdum in his prime, he\u2019s in that range, man.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Brazilian legend has not competed in MMA since 2021 but he did return under Jorge Masvidal\u2019s Gamebred FC banner three years ago.<\/p>\n

Werdum lost to Junior dos Santos via split decision of their bare-knuckle MMA contest. He was subsequently announced as a part of the Global Fight League roster at the tip of 2024 before plans for that promotional launch collapsed.<\/p>\n
