Paul said that it was McMahon who knew he was destined for WWE.<\/p>\n“It wasn’t until after our first WrestleMania, I got here backstage and your dad was like, ‘Your future is here’ or something like that,” he said. “I used to be like, ‘Okay, we’ll see about that.’ Then I went right to the locker room and I [saw] me doing the frog splash and all of the moves with The Miz, I used to be like, ‘Yo, I seem like a wrestler! That is crazy!’ I used to be buying it. I used to be buying what I used to be selling in that ring. I used to be like, ‘Oh, s***, possibly Vince was right.'”<\/p>\n
Paul explained that he was hired initially resulting from his social media presence. He talked about having a gathering with McMahon to pitch his ideas for viral moments. He explained he talked for quarter-hour, but he wasn’t sure McMahon was receptive and he felt like he was “speaking a foreign language.” Thankfully for Paul, all of it worked out.<\/p>\n
“That is the brilliance of Vince McMahon,” he said. “It’s like you might have this ability to adapt, even for those who aren’t entirely sure what is going on on, you depend on people who find themselves experts in a craft… I used to be the last person Vince ever signed, which I assumed was really cool.”<\/p>\n
