The Carolina Hurricanes are looking strong after sweeping the Ottawa Senators out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Carolina is now awaiting the winner of the Philadelphia Flyers-Pittsburgh Penguins series. Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind’Amour is giving praise to his goaltender, Frederik Andersen.<\/p>\n

Andersen put together one other dazzling performance for Carolina in Game 4 against Ottawa. He finished the sport<\/a> with 25 saves on 27 shots against him.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou’ll be able to’t understate that, especially whenever you consider how well the opposite guy was playing of their end,\u201d Brind’Amour said of Andersen, per ESPN. \u201cIt was a goalie matchup, they usually were going save for save. And we wanted it, right? Otherwise, this thing could look quite a bit different.<\/p>\n

\u201cFreddie, it’s probably one of the best hockey he’s played for us since being a Hurricane.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Hurricanes did get some bad news in the sport, as defenseman Alexander Nikishin went down with an injury. Nikishin has a concussion, after getting crushed by Senators player Tyler Kleven.<\/p>\n

Despite the injury, Carolina is skating with confidence. The Hurricanes scored first in all 4 games of the Ottawa series.<\/p>\n

\u201cI’m really pleased with the group for the best way they played for 4 games. You are up three-nothing, and the tendency \u2014 human nature \u2014 is possibly to not put the entire foot on the gas,\u201d Brind’Amour said. \u201cBut our first period was great. We got here out like, \u2018We would like to complete this.’ And we needed to, to play against that team. You are not going to win for those who didn’t include that attitude. And I assumed we were capable of try this for all 4 games.\u201d<\/p>\n

Carolina will probably be watching closely to what happens within the Flyers-Penguins series. Philadelphia leads that series, 3-1, with Game 5 scheduled for Monday night in Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
