Paul Merson believes Chelsea should consider poaching a \u2018top manager\u2019 from a Premier League rival after sacking Liam Rosenior.<\/p>\n

Rosenior signed a five-and-a-half yr deal at Stamford Bridge in January after arriving from French club Strasbourg.<\/p>\n

But the previous Premier League player spent just 106 days in charge before being sacked after a miserable run for the Blues.<\/p>\n

Rosenior oversaw just 11 wins in his 23 matches on the helm and last week\u2019s defeat at Brighton was Chelsea\u2019s fifth successive league loss without scoring, the club\u2019s worst run since 1912. <\/p>\n

\u2018Liam has at all times conducted himself with the very best integrity and professionalism following his appointment midway through the season,\u2019 an announcement from Chelsea said.<\/p>\n

Newcastle have lost almost half of their league games and Saturday\u2019s 1-0 defeat to Arsenal leaves them 14th within the table, just eight points above the relegation zone.<\/p>\n

Merson has warned Newcastle to \u2018watch out\u2019 as they consider replacing Howe, nevertheless, and says clubs like Chelsea shall be \u2018queueing up across the corner\u2019 if he becomes available.<\/p>\n

\u2018I\u2019m an enormous fan of Eddie Howe,\u2019 Merson told Sky Sports<\/a>. \u2018If Eddie Howe leaves Newcastle, they\u2019ll be queueing up across the corner for him.<\/p>\n

Discussing Howe\u2019s future at St James\u2019 Park, Jamie Redknapp added: \u2018I feel Eddie has done enough to come to a decision whatever he wants on the club.<\/p>\n

\u2018There might come to some extent at the top of the season Eddie thinks, \u201cI\u2019ve possibly taken this group so far as I can.\u201d There\u2019s obviously something not right there and the performances haven\u2019t been acceptable.\u2019<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Howe admitted talks with the Newcastle hierarchy at the top of the season could possibly be \u2018barely harder\u2019 than in previous years after the team\u2019s poor form continued against title-chasing Arsenal.<\/p>\n

\u2018These are things that we at all times have yearly,\u2019 Howe said. \u2018Obviously this one shall be barely harder for me I\u2019m sure, but it’ll be good to fulfill with the owners and discuss the longer term.\u2019<\/p>\n
